SHANKARACHARYA TEMPLE

Built in the 4th century, this temple is an incredible edifice of superior, yet tranquil architecture. It stands proudly at the top of an octagonal platform. Moreover, the whole medieval vibes that it gives will give you an odd sense of calm and happy. Presumably, the legend has it that the philosopher Shankaracharya resided in the temple once. Hence, the name.  You need to reach the top and we promise, your heart will skip a beat when you take in the entire view of Zabarwan Mountains and the quintessential Dal Lake.
