You’ll then be visiting the government’s museum where we promise you that you’ll be smitten by the archives and the rich cultural and historical treasure that India possesses. From vintage collection to artifacts of profound significance in archaeology you’ll find it all. Be ready to be effortlessly charmed by the second oldest museum in India. You know what makes it even more special? It possesses the largest collection of Roman antiquities outside Europe. Interesting, eh?
Well, the day will bring you closer to letting go of all the restraint and to just be. Bask in the glory of nature and play splash in the Marina beach. Time to pamper yourself. There’s a treasure waiting for you by the beach? Confused? Well, it’s only fair to let you in on our little secret. Sunsets from the top of the famous Marina Beach lighthouse are spectacular. We insist you experience one. The moment will last forever in your heart. Having tasted the opulence of Chennai you’ll then be hitting the wheels to get on the road to Mahabalipuram.
Day 3 : Visiting Five Rathas and shore temple in Mahabalipuram and Ekambareswarar temple in Kanchipuram
Tie your seatbelts for you are going to experience the very essence of incredible India. Your quest to discover south India is incomplete without praying in the temples and marveling at their beauty.
You’ll be visiting the five Rathas to begin the day with. The Dravidian architecture speaking volumes of the legend of “Pandavas” is an absolutely stunning edifice. These rock-cut chariots profoundly signify the good old 7th century paving way for an outstanding architectural style for the world to see.
History has its own perks, doesn’t it?
Long before you get out of the trance you’ll slip into another one at the shore temple. The sweet sound of waves crashing and bells ringing will make you never want to leave. The rock-cut edifice is the perfect example of superior architecture. Pray and remember Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in this proud testimony of golden Indian Heritage. Look out for three shrines of the divine and you’ll be awed at the excellence of the sculpture and carvings on the same.
You’ll then be heading to the ever so popular Ekambareswarar temple in Kanchipuram. The holistic spread of 40 acres echoing the sound of prayers to Lord Shiva is one of the largest and most beautiful temples in India. Invading the skyline with its proud height this temple is a wonder in itself.

Day 4 : Enroute to Pondicherry. Relaxing in the Pondicherry beach

Eat, chill and bask in the waves of this beautiful beach in the Auroville village. Day 5 : Visiting Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Pondicherry Museum. Enroute to Tanjore

History buffs are in for a treat at this one. Pondicherry museum takes you back in time with its spectacular bronze sculptures and tree trunks in the yard. As the day nears, you’ll be on the road again to Tanjore.
Day 6 : Visiting Brihadeeshwara temple and Swami Malai Temple. Enroute to Madurai via Trichy
You’ll be led to see the famous Brihadeeshwara temple. Let the magic of this extremely gorgeous and superior architecture seep into your blood and bones. And while you’re at it go ahead and pray to the god at this UNESCO world heritage site. The temple boasts of having the largest temple tower in the world. Isn’t that amazing? Are you an art fanatic? This place is for you. The frescoes on the wall depicting the life of Lord Shiva are intricate and so beautifully done.

SWAMI MALAI TEMPLE
Uncover Tamil Nadu and Kerela more in this obscure Swami Malai temple lying in the banks of river Cauvery. Climb the stairs and get to the top to see the perfect lord Muruga. The efforts are surely going to be worth it all. This 5 storied wonder of a temple will make you swoon with ecstasy.
ENROUTE TO MADURAI VIA TRICHY
Slide behind the wheels for you’ll be taken to the next stop on your mission to uncover Tamil Nadu and Kerala. While you’re on your way to Madurai you’ll find a glimpse of Trichy.
Day 7 : Visiting Meenakshi Amman temple, Alagar koyil and the Gandhi Museum. Enroute to Periyar
MEENAKSHI AMMAN TEMPLE
You’ll be heading to one of the most important and oldest temples in India. Basically, your day is going, to begin with, lots of positivity and blessings from Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati at the Meenakshi Amman temple. Be prepared to be enchanted by the charm of the rich Dravidian architecture of this temple.
It doesn’t end there. You’ll then be heading on to pray in the cradle of Alagar Koyil. The Kallazhagar temple is a breathtakingly beautiful example of Dravidian architecture. Reflecting faith in god and wonders of art and sculptures, this temple sets example of the glory of spirituality and belief.
THE GANDHI MUSEUM

Day 8 : Visiting Periyar National Park

Day 9 : Enroute to Kumarakom

Day 10 : Enroute to Alleppey houseboat
As soon as you hit Kumarakom you’ll be taken further to Alleppey for an overnight stay in the world famous houseboats of Kerala.
